Zeit Medical Announces $2m Seed Round
$2m seed round completed to drive team growth and bring product to clinical testing
Zeit has closed an oversubscribed 🚀 $2m seed round 🚀 co-led by SeedtoB Capital and Digilife Angel Fund, amongst several other notable investors.
At Zeit Medical, we leverage the power of AI and wearable sensors to deliver peace of mind to stroke survivors and those at high risk of stroke. Zeit’s smart headband immediately detects the onset of a stroke and notifies emergency services, targeting the 90% of annual strokes in the US that go untreated due to recognition delays and leave survivors suffering from lifelong disabilities and significant medical costs. Prompt intervention is key to mitigating the lasting impact of nighttime stroke, given that outcomes improve dramatically when treatment is delivered within four hours of onset – a window that closes for most patients while they sleep. Zeit’s platform will help minimize avoidable harm associated with the roughly one million strokes that occur each year in the U.S. and provide peace of mind for everyone living with an elevated stroke risk.
“This funding will enable us to conduct our clinical studies and pursue FDA clearance,” said Orestis Vardoulis, Zeit Medical co-founder and CEO. “We’re excited to partner with SeedtoB Capital given their unique expertise in the clinical AI space and their shared belief in our vision to improve care and quality of life for anybody at risk for stroke.”
“Stroke remains a leading cause of death in the U.S., and millions of at-risk Americans fear experiencing a stroke when asleep or alone. The Zeit Medical team is tackling this issue with an innovative platform that will not only help improve outcomes but also quality of life. We’re thrilled to partner with them on this journey,” said Ritesh Sharma, managing partner at SeedtoB Capital.
Co-managing partner at Digilife Fund, Bobba Venkatadri, adds, “As science identifies ever more risk factors for stroke, breakthrough risk management options utilizing algorithms and AI have become of paramount importance. Zeit is at the forefront of a global effort to minimize preventable disability and suffering.”
